Beyond Shame is a post-apocalyptic romance/erotica set in the slum sectors outside a city called Eden. When naïve, fragile Noelle Cunningham is banished from Eden for breaking their most important rules (no drinking, NO fornication) she is tossed into the dangerous and seedy Sector Four, controlled by the O'Kane gang. Noelle falls into the arms, literally, of O'Kane gang member Jasper.
This book is full of sex. All kinds of sex between all kinds of people in all kinds of situations. It is hot and sexy and any erotica lover is going to enjoy this story.
What I liked best about this book was what came beyond the sex. Noelle is repressed, learning from an early age that anything that feels good is shameful. This book is about how repressing desires only makes them stronger and more twisted. Though she is naïve and a little fragile, Noelle becomes strong and learns a lot about herself as the book progresses. It's a story about love and learning how to be strong enough to take what you really want when it matters.
The characters make the story. They are all intriguing and well written and they make you love them. Life is hard after the apocalypse, and people do what makes them feel good so that they feel alive and can forget everything else. The O'Kane gang is mean and dangerous, but they're also good to the people who deserve it.
I enjoyed this book a lot and will definitely continue on with this series. I can't help it, I HAVE to know what happens to the rest of the O'Kane gang.
