Genre: Children's Book Click book cover for Amazon.com I like the way Mary Ann Vitale shows kindness as it's own reward in this beautifully illustrated children's book about a fairy who hides among water lilies. There is a short period of time in our lives when believing in fairies makes sense, and this book makes good use of that time. The fairy in Vitale's book is a generous one who uses her "powers" to enrich the people of a small village. There are no "bad guys," and she gets nothing in return but a feeling of having spread kindness. What a great message.

Genre: Children's Book Click book cover for Amazon.com Children love to read books that they can relate to, and what child can't relate to leaving his or her clothing all over the room! Author Ari Mazor was sixteen years old when he wrote this book. He found a great way to help teach children the basic lessons they need to learn.
He personified a young boy's clothes to show the importance of respecting one's belongings. The clothes feel neglected and hide from young Charlie, and he quickly learns his lesson. The illustrations by Abira Das are simple yet brightly engaging. I love that a sixteen year old aspiring engineer took the time to create a tool to help children learn. Amazon is selling it in ebook format for 99 cents and it is more than worth the money if your little ones learn the lesson he is teaching. - Beverly Publisher - MazorBooks Date of Publication - July 22, 2013 Genre: Children's book Click book cover for Amazon.com In my new quest for children's books in ebook format, I came across Mommy, Where Does Tiger Live? by Mary Ann Vitale. The story is a simple one, illustrated very nicely.
The colors are bright and the pictures are relatable to small children. Every parent is familiar with the natural curiosity of children. My two were like reporters in training as they constantly asked " who, what, why, where and when." It is a fantasy of course, where the baby tiger eats peanut butter m & m's, drinks milk shakes and sleeps cuddled with mommy tiger, but that is okay with me. The real world will be waiting soon enough. - Beverly Sold by - Amazon Digital Services, Inc. The Israeli author uses rhymes to capture her young reader's attention. After all, what child doesn't love being read to (or reading) in rhyme? Her books, published in Hebrew, have been translated into English so she can reach a new audience.
Adler's story is easy to follow, nicely illustrated and educational. The simple story about two rabbit friends trying to grow the biggest carrot and win the farm, teaches the young reader about the importance of looking deeper than what is right before our eyes, to find the truth. Be it a carrot or a person, that which is hidden is often more beautiful than that which is in plain sight. The book also gives lessons in friendship and humility. I am looking forward to checking out more of these cute little stories with a lesson. -Beverly Publisher - CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform Date of Publication - February 25, 2014 |
