Kate is devastated to find out that her only daughter, Amelia, supposedly jumped to her death from the rooftop of her elite private school in NY, after being accused of cheating. When Kate gets an anonymous text stating that Amelia "didn't jump", it becomes her mission to piece together the truth of what exactly happened to her daughter. Through flashbacks from Amelia, texts, Facebook posts, and present day dialogue, the reader is taken on a journey revealing secrets not only about Amelia but also about her peers and Kate.
Every chapter, every word is intricately planned so that tidbits of information trickle in throughout the book. Pieces slowly fall into place, only to leave you hanging... until finally providing the answers at the very end. So many important topics are covered in this novel: loss of a loved one, single parenthood, parent/child relationships, affairs, sexuality, secret societies, bullying, depression, peer pressure, and high powered cover-ups to name a few. I found this novel fascinating, engaging, and thought provoking. Don't miss out on this fabulous 5 star book!
