I received this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Welcome to the world of the fabulous Bellini brothers. Sebastian and Ricci Bellini are HOT. The book is full of passion and a startling duo of romances that I didn't really see coming! I enjoyed the "business only" relationship that began between Sebastian and Mia, and the hero/rescue relationship that grew between Ricci and Maureen. The author did a fantastic job of keeping me reading, waiting to see how, exactly, these tough men could be won over and pulled into love.
One thing that I must say about the novel is that there is a shift in tense from time to time that pulled me out of the story and made me need to re-read the page to find my place. It only detracted from the story in the sense that I was engrossed with the plot and disliked the distraction of finding the tense change from time to time.
Also-I did not like having to wait for book two to find out if these brothers get their happily ever after! The suspense was just too much! (That doesn't detract from the story, it just drives me nuts, which I'm sure the author was trying to do!)
The sex scenes in the novel are erotic and believable, and the author did a great job keeping it just spicy enough to entertain without going overboard. There are a few scenes of forcible sex that are distasteful in their nature, but they are treated with proper disdain by the author and the other characters.
All in all, this is a moving romance that doesn't try to hide the ugliness that is love. Sometimes it isn't easy to love another person, and sometimes you make mistakes. The Bellinis and their girls make A LOT of mistakes, but it's how they preserve that makes this a great story.
