works for the state of Louisiana, in the city of Mudbug. Her husband deserted her two years ago and she has not been able to divorce him because no one can find him to serve him with divorce papers. The book opens at her mother-in-law’s funeral. Helena Henry, one of the most disliked people in town, wakes up at her own funeral as a ghost. Unfortunately for Helena, no one can see her except for her daughter-in-law Maryse.
Maryse has enough of her own problems. She is trying to pay off the debt her husband left her in, while working in the bayou as a botonist, and at the same time doing some private scientific experiments of her own. When DEA agent Luc LeJeune enters the picture as an undercover agent investigating Maryse things become even more complicated. Maryse realizes that dealing with the ghost of Helena is even harder than it was dealing with a living Helena. If you can suspend belief for a couple of hours and can overlook some editing issues you might enjoy this funny and fast paced story.
